Love 119 is criminally good

RIIZE is one of the few boy groups (in my opinion) who absolutely devoured the "fresh" concept. From "Memories" to "Get a Guitar", "Talk Saxy" and now "Love 119", their songs never fail to make the "fresh" concept even more refreshing.

Their instrumentals though simple, make the song very light and bright.

Using only drums, piano and synth the song wasn't overdone but was instead kept simple, following the concept. The drums were kept almost constant throughout the song except for the pre-chorus/bridge which were toned down to build up to the chorus. The pre-chorus lyrics did carry a more thoughtful meaning so my theory is the toned down instrumentals were to resemble someone pondering and thinking.

The ending chorus usually meant to carry the most impactful was quite well-executed though the instrumentals were not much different. Sohee's ad-libs were what made the chorus more soulful and heartfelt.

I absolutely love this concept they were going for, being so helplessly in love you have to call the police, it reminds me of Stray Kids' Case 143. I enjoyed the overall winter and nostalgic vibes the song gave off and it suits RIIZE very much. Some say the chorus is too shouty and underdeveloped and while I see where they're coming from, I personally enjoyed the chorus a lot. It was easy to sing along to and the beat kept the mood bright and light. I do agree that the chorus could have had a little more something, perhaps a violin instead of piano background to add onto the romantic story.

All in all this song is definitely high up on my list of RIIZE's songs but SM needs to let these boys release an album or EP because I actually am so impatient and I need to see what more they have to offer after dropping such a christmas-y, cute and nostalgic song.
